The film tour leads from the capital Denpasar to the surfing paradises Sanur and Kuta on the Indian Ocean. We continue past lush green rice terraces into the interior of the island. At the Beratan Lake priests sacrifice to the water goddess Dewi Danu. In the north, the fishing port of Negara and the Buddhist temple of Banjar are visited. The film portrait of the German capital shows how East and West continue to grow together into one of the most exciting cities in Europe. Unter den Linden, the old boulevard that connects the Brandenburg Gate and Alexanderplatz, leads past the Neue Wache, the Humboldt University, the Gendarmenmarkt, the Museum Island, the Berlin Cathedral, the Nikolaiviertel and the Red Town Hall. It continues from the Reichstag through the government district to Bellevue Palace. History and stories accompany the way through Berlin: Check Point Charlie, Potsdamer Platz, Kudamm, Bahnhof Zoo and the Olympic Stadium. The film journey begins in the metropolis of Yangon with its vibrant street markets, the harbor and the golden stupa of the Shwedagon Pagoda. 150 km to the east, the golden rock hovers over the abyss as a striking pilgrimage destination. Inle Lake is framed by the Shan Mountains. Skilful one-leg oarsmen throw out their nets and farmers order the floating gardens ". The lifeline of Myanmar is the more than 2,000 km long Ayeyarwady. By boat it goes to the villages and towns on its banks. The former royal city was Mandalay with the palace complex, the famous Buddha sculptors and goldsmiths. The fascinating setting in Amarapura is the sunset at the U-Bein Bridge, the longest teak bridge in the world. In Bagan, at sunrise, the hot air balloons glide over the 2,000 pagodas and temples that protrude from the plain to Mount Popa.
